Writing Prompts

Instructions 1. We will post a photo or illustration every Thursday. You can then write a piece in any genre using the picture featured in the post as your inspiration. 2. If you’d like to submit your writing, go to ‘Click to Enter’ below the photo and enter the link to your piece. This could be a link to your blog or Facebook page where you have posted your writing. If you don’t have a blog you can sign up for free at www.wordpress.com. 3. Please link back to this page - https://creativewritingink.co.uk/writing-prompts - on your blog post. Please also include the prompt photo in your piece of writing and/or the writing prompt photo date, so that we know which prompt you are using. 4. Your entry will be automatically entered into our competition. The current writing prompt competition will close on March 31st, 2019. The prize is an Amazon voucher worth £10. The competition is free to enter, there’s no word limit or limit on the number of entries. You can write a piece on any of the photos posted on this page. We reserve the right to remove any content that is likely to offend or distress others; is discriminatory, abusive, obscene or otherwise offensive; or breaks the law (breach of copyright, defamation). If you are under the age of 18, you must have the consent of a parent or guardian over 18 to enter the competitions. Creative Writing Ink reserves the right to ask for proof of permission. Entries without permission will be disqualified. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to our writing prompts page in October and November and congratulations to Philippa Crundwell, the winner. You can read the winning entry here. We are currently reading the December and January writing prompt entries and will release the winner’s details soon. This competition is run in partnership with The Writing District, The Writing Quarter and Creative Writing NZ.

Please submit your writing below.
Please also include the prompt photo in your piece of writing (in your blog post or Facebook page) and/or the writing prompt photo date, so that we know which prompt you are using.
