Module One
We consider the usefulness of writing for radio to you as a writer, the elements of radio drama and the typical flaws from which radio plays can suffer.
Module Two
The second week looks at the key elements of radio drama, Structure and Character, the laying out of your drama in a manner compatible with the medium and populating the drama with interesting and appealing characters.
Module Three
The third module considers Genre and Outlining. An understanding of how genre works offers a shortcut to structure and format, while outlining, planning the action and your characters parts in it, will help you with the pace and direction of your radio drama.
Module Four
The fourth module looks at Style and, the heart of radio drama presentation, Dialogue.
Module Five
The fifth module is a closer consideration of Story and Plot, and it deals with the development of one into the other. We will also look at the Scene, the orderly presentation of story, plot and character.
Module Six
The sixth module will look at the Logistics of the script in detail, its preparation, presentation and submission. Finally, we will review the Market for radio drama and list a range of resources.
