I am A Story Competition is open until 5pm on Friday 24 January 2020.
Free to enter. The competition is open to pupils of primary school age.
The overall winner of the competition will win a school visit from Cerrie Burnell and one of Cerrie’s books for every child in the winner’s year group, as well as a set of her books for the school library. Two runners up will receive a bundle of Cerrie’s books for them and their school library.
Cerrie says: ‘Every book I’ve written is a work of fiction, yet the characters, places or the relationships in the book are always based on something real, on a memory or a story I’ve lived. So, make your story unique to you, let the character look like you, or live on your street, or share a love of your favourite ice cream, sport, colour or song.
‘Whether its wild or wicked, charming or sad, hilarious, imaginary or completely true, I would love to read your story. So put yourself at the heart of your story and be as creative as you dare.’
Stories should be max 1,000 words. Entries should be sent by a named contact at the school.
