The RISCS Short Story Competition 2026 is open for entries.
Submission Guidelines
- The competition is open to UK residents only.
- The competition is open to both published and unpublished writers.
- Stories that incorporate AI-generated content (using tools such as ChatGPT) will not be accepted.
- Open to writers 18+
- The word limit (including title) must not exceed 4,000 words.
- One entry per person.
Judges: Joanna Nadin, Will Slocombe, Siân John MBE, Paul Waller, and Lizzie Coles-Kemp.
Entry fee: Free to enter
Prizes:
- 1st prize – £1,000
- 2nd prize – £500
- 3rd prize – £250
Deadline: Monday, 12 January 2026, 9 am.
