Competition Information

Entries to the Edinburgh Award for Flash Fiction are open.

Submission Guidelines

  • Open to writers worldwide, published and unpublished.
  • Stories on any topic up to 250 words.

Judges:  Meg Pokrass

Entry fee: £10 per story

Prizes:

  • First Prize £2,000 – Open to writers worldwide
  • Second Prize £500 – Open to writers worldwide
  • Third Prize £250 – Open to writers worldwide
  • Golden Hare Award £550 – Open to unpublished writers living in Scotland
  • Write Mango Flash Award £300 – Open to writers worldwide
  • 5 commendations £100 each – Open to writers worldwide
  • Publication is offered to authors of the top twenty stories (or more) in the Edinburgh Anthology
  • Scottish Arts Club free membership for one year for 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize winners and the winner of the Golden Hare Award.

True Flash Prizes

  • First Prize £500 – Open to writers worldwide
  • 2 commendations £100 each – Open to writers worldwide
  • Publication is offered to authors of the top five stories in the Edinburgh Anthology
