Croydon Writers – The Michael Round Prize

Competition Information

Croydon Writers’ Michael Round Prize is accepting submissions.

Submission Guidelines

  • Theme: entries must be on the theme ‘Far and Wide’.
  • The competition is open to everyone except those judging and administering it.
  • One entry is allowed per person.
  • Entries must be in English. Translations are not allowed. Must be original and unpublished.
  • Entries must be fiction. They must not exceed 1,200 words in length, excluding the title and page headings.
  • They must not have been awarded a prize in any other competition. Simultaneous submission to other competitions is allowed, but entries must be withdrawn if they succeed elsewhere.

Judges: Croydon Writers judging panel.

Entry fee: Free to enter.

Prizes:

  • First-place: £100 and second-place: £50.
  • In addition, shortlisted entrants will be offered a year’s free subscription to Croydon Writers.
  • Shortlisted entries may also be published in a planned anthology.

Deadline: 30th September 2025.
