The Claret Press Short Story Contest is open for entries.

Submission Guidelines

  • Open to stories that reflect today’s politics.
  •  Keep your story below 5,000 words.
  • Accepting creative prose.
  •  You should be subscribed to the ‘A Sip of Claret News’ mailing list. ​​
  • Your story should be your own, and can not have been published elsewhere.

Judges: Tessa Glover, Katie Isbester, and Ann Whitehead.

Entry fee: £5

Prizes:

  • First prize – £50
  • Second prize – £30
  • Third prize – £20

Deadline: 1st February, 2026.
