The Brick Lane Bookshop Short Story Prize 2026 is now open.
Submission Guidelines
- Stories can be submitted by writers based in the UK and Ireland.
- Stories must be between 1,000 and 3,500 words.
Judges: Andrew Porter (author of The Imagined Life), Shani Akilah (author of For Such a Time as This) and Ludo Cinelli (agent at Eve White Agency).
Entry fee: £10 and a limited number of free entries for writers on a low income (granted first-come, first-served)
Prizes:
- 1st Prize is £1,000. 2nd Prize is £500. 3rd Prize is £250.
- The 12 shortlisted stories will be published in the Brick Lane Bookshop New Short Stories 2026 anthology.
Deadline: 5 pm on Monday, 2nd March.
