Submission Guidelines for Ascent Children’s Book Prize
- International writing competition for unagented writers.
- Accepting picture books, chapter books, middle-grade, teen and young adult fiction.
- Submit up to 3,000 words, a one-line pitch and synopsis.
- Prizes: the winner will receive £1,000. Every entrant receives access to a free membership area and the top 100 entrants win a personalised paragraph of feedback from industry professionals. After the winner has been chosen, the highest-scoring manuscripts from underrepresented backgrounds receive their Highly Commended Awards.
- Deadline: 1st July, 2026
