Scratch Books is about to open submissions for the Scratch A4 short story competition. The submission window is from Sept 12 – 24th October.
Submission Guidelines
- Story must be less than 1,000 words
- Any theme
Judges:
- Leon Craig – Author of The Decadence (2025) and Parallel Hells (2022).
- Mehar Anaokar – Editor at Serpent’s Tail.
- Tom Conaghan – Publisher at Scratch Books.
Entry fee: £4
Prizes: The six shortlisted writers are invited to read their stories at the amazing Scratch A4 final. Scratch A4 Winter ’26 will be held in London on the evening of Saturday 5th December.
Deadline: Midnight Saturday 26th October
