Open Poetry

- Prizes: £1,000, £500 and £250. £100 for the best entry in the category for a local poet.
Young Poets
- No theme
- Maximum lines 40
- Entry fee: £3
- Judge: Julia Webb
- Prizes: £200, £150 and £100. Winners receive a year’s membership to The Poetry Society.
Short Story
- No theme
- 1,000 to 2,000 words
- Entry fee £8
- Judge Carole Burns
- Prizes: £750, £300 and £200. £100 in the category for best local author.
Book For Children
- Age range 8 years and up, to include Young Adults
- The first 3 chapters or the first 30 pages, whichever is the shortest, plus a synopsis
- No theme
- Entry fee £8
- Judge: Catherine Bruton
- Prizes: £750, £300 and £200. £100 in the category for best local entry.
Deadline: 30th June for all categories except the Young Poets, which closes on 31st July
