With enough passion and desire I believe we can do anything. But to write we also need technique and craft; these things only come with practice, and a good bit of discipline.

Throughout this Beginners Creative Writing Course, you will be given a multitude of exercises and tips that you will need to set your inner scribbler free. Each exercise will then be read by Adam and you will receive personal feedback. We’re not looking for masterpieces, just pieces that contain something of your own creativity. The exercises should be seen as games and treated with an element of fun.

The course will be key in discovering your own unique voice as a writer and for furthering and strengthening that voice.

We will also look at pieces of literature from the inside; discover what makes these pieces work; and then complete imitation exercises.

Hemmingway said, ‘You can’t teach writing you can only learn it.’ And the only way to learn is to write. So you’ll be encouraged to write as much as possible, keep a notebook with you, and to create a daily writing routine.

You will also be encouraged to widen your reading habits. All great writers are also great readers and Adam will suggest various books and anthologies for you to read.

The course will include;

- Speed writing or stream-of-consciousness writing
- Finding your voice
- Keeping it symbol
- Avoiding cliché and then subverting cliché
- Tackling poetry forms
- Looking at metaphor and simile
- Rewriting, editing, polishing
- Using literature as models and springboards for writing

And much more!
